Yes what a great quote it is! We acquire knowledge and information from various books. We can travel with the emotion of the other .we can understand others feelings also .we can know the culture and civilization of the past.

Arts, history, geography, biography ,health, fiction, warfare and other related books inspires everyone.

The reader sail same boat with other throughout the book.

For example if we read 'ponniyin Selvan' we feel the chola dynasty culture.

When we read 'the wings of fire 'written by Abdul Kalam we got more inspiration. we feel the same when we read the 'universe in a Nutshell' by Stephen Hawking.

Gitanjali book of Rabindranath Tagore leaders to a holy World. Our thirukkural stole number of reader's hearts around the world.

 It's a blooming day. We are gathering herer to get knowledge. Thank god for giving me the chance. Respected principal, my beloved teachers and my dear brothers and sisters good morning all.I am happy to among with you. 

Today we are living in a computer world. Nobody ready to spend time for others. We are running for luxurious life. But we don't know that we are not happy without other's happy. 

That's why I recalled a great Greek philosopher Plato. 

 He is saying that empathy is the highest form of knowledge. 

We got knowledge by reading books. Nowadays we get more from internet. But nobody can tell that how to feel others feeling. 

We already know sympathy. But empathy is different from sympathy. 

"Empathy is more powerful than sympathy"

The main difference between sympathy and empathy is that empathy involved sharing the feelings of another person. sympathy is feeling concerned for someone else situation.

Empathy is the ability to understand and share another person's feeling.

"Empathy is the medicine the world needs"

 cognitive and emotional reactions can be experienced.

Empathy is a sign of intelligent. Intelligent leaders understand that. Empathy is the base for motivation.  Motivated people can transform communities and lives for the better.

One who come out from his ego can understand empathy.

  The ability to feel empathy allows people "to work a mile in another shoes" .

There are various types of empathy .

* Effective empathy helps to know other person's emotions

* somatic empathy help us to know others physical reaction 

* cognitive empathy leads us to value others mental state so it is called "the theory of mind".

In our habitual life be must have empathy. It will give us good name from parents and teachers . One who want to maintain friendship relationship in a smooth way must have empathy. I am not a philosopher to  explain you in a elaborate way. Just I indicate some points here.

PONGAL FESTIVAL THAI PONGAL THIRUNAL ENGLISH SPEECH ESSAY

     Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in the month of January. The festival lasts for four days and is dedicated to the Sun God. Pongal is one of the most important festivals celebrated by Tamilians.

    The first day of Pongal is called Bhogi. On this day, people clean their houses and discard old things. Bonfires are lit in front of houses and people offer prayers to Lord Indra for a good harvest.

    The second day is known as Thai Pongal, which is the main day of the festival. It is celebrated on the first day of the Tamil month Thai, which falls on January 14th. People wake up early in the morning and prepare pongal, a sweet dish made of rice, lentils, jaggery, and milk. This dish is offered to the Sun God as a thanksgiving for a good harvest.

    The third day is called Mattu Pongal, which is dedicated to cows. Cows are given a bath and decorated with colored paints and flowers. They are worshipped and fed with special food.

Have you know why we are gathering here? Today is an important day for Tamilnadu. Yes yes today is educational development day. Our former chief minister Mr Kamaraj's birthday today. After getting independence our country has only 36 percentage of literacy level. After that the government forced the people to study. Illiteracy in Tamilnadu demolish the economy level. There is a lack of improvement in all it's corner. Kamaraj become the chief minister of  Tamilnadu on 13th April 1954 after Rajaji.

Kamaraj opened 11000 schools throught Tamil Nadu to educate the people. But nobody else came. He thought an Idea of insisting noon meal scheme. He also implemented with great effort. All children from the NOOK and corner of rural areas got education and they get meals in the school also.               www.tamilthugal.blogspot.com

Literacy rate of Tamilnadu increases up to 65 percentage. All states followed Kamaraj and implemented the noon meal scheme for their states. Prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru wondered Kamaraj and appreciate him.

Kamaraj planned to construct an elementary school of every 2 kilometre and a high school at every five kilometre. That is master plan. As Chief Minister, Kamaraj removed the family vocation based Modified Scheme of Elementary education 1953 introduced by Rajaji. He reopened 6000 schools closed in the previous government by C. Rajagopalachari. No village remained without a primary school and no panchayat without a high school. He introduced free school uniforms to weed out caste, creed and class distinctions among young.

            Apart from increasing the number of schools, steps were taken to improve standards of education. To improve standards, the number of working days was increased from 180 to 200; unnecessary holidays were reduced.             9 years of Kamaraj tired less efforts tamilnadu's literacy level increased. Kamaraj period is a golden period for Tamilnadu. He ruled for 9 years but he make Tamil Nadu's development as a centenary.
